Boardies® x OneWave

Boardies® is sponsoring OneWave, a worldwide non-profit surf community raising awareness of mental health through a simple recipe…saltwater therapy, surfing and fluro. They believe that everyone should have the chance to ride waves and openly talk about mental health without being judged.  Originating from Bondi Beach, OneWave runs weekly Fluro Friday sunrise sessions globally where the community dress up in the brightest outfits possible and share stories, surf and do yoga to raise awareness of mental health. Everyone is welcome and you don't need to be a surfer to be involved. 

Boardies® founder Nick Crook first met the guys at OneWave at their 5 year anniversary party on Bondi Beach back in 2017, as part of their weekly Fluro Friday morning meetings.  Nick explains: - "It was an epic sunrise and I joined a crowd of around 100 people all dressed in crazy bright fluro, whom I had never met before and formed part of a human chain along South Bondi Beach to help raise awareness of mental health.  It was a magical experience that I'll never forget and since then I have forged some great friendships with the OneWave crew and will visit Bondi for Fluro Friday whenever I am in Sydney to meet up early, chat, share thoughts and catch some party waves together."

Nick Crook from Boardies®

We've hooked up the the founders of OneWave Grant and Sam with free pairs of Boardies® over the years but always talked about how cool it would be to create some proper Fluro Friday merchandise for the crew.  So this year, whilst in Bali, we decide to make some t-shirts and caps which we donated at the Christmas party at Tamarama Beach.  More information and pics of the merchandise to follow.
