Boardies® has teamed up with Parisian artist BEBAR following a collaboration and introduction from our friends at the premium rum brand Havana Club. Born in 1993, BEBAR is part of the urban and contemporary art movement. He stands out for the versatility and duality in his art, the juxtaposition between graffiti mastery and academic know-how, between figuration and abstraction. The artist “Bebarbarie” extends from the walls of the French capital to its art galleries, and his colourful, abstract and organic motifs have now established him as a recognised artist in urban art. The collaboration consists of a shirt and shorts set, in his vibrant, abstract print
Boardies® has partnered with fellow London based designer, RÆBURN, who has a philosophy for responsible design. The collaboration is a capsule collection bringing together iconic RÆBURN prints and Boardies® original quality and timeless designs. With aligned values from both brands, the collection is made from recycled and biodegradable fabrics. With each piece sold, Boardies® x RÆBURN will donate 10% of profits to help clear up plastic in waterways around the world.
The second Boardies® x Daniel w. Fletcher collaboration came about after sharing a design studio in Hackney, the East End of London. Daniel was nominated for the LVMH prize in 2017 and was a finalist in Netflix’s, ‘Next In Fashion’. The collaboration merges Daniel’s signature stripe designs with Boardies® expertise in swimwear. The shorts are made from recycled fabrics and of course, incorporate all of Boardies® quality trims and components.
Boardies® has teamed up with Sydney based artist Joel Moore, AKA Mulga, one of the most exciting illustrators from Down Under. Boardies® founder Nick, met Joel whilst on his travels through Bondi Beach, where he was painting a mural. For this second collaboration, his bold, playful style has been placed on an Ocean and a Dinosaur print… think fish with sunglasses and dinosaurs with surfboards!
Boardies® has partnered with fellow London based designer and London Royal College of Art graduate Liam Hodges to create a capsule collection of limited edition shorts and pants in signature Hodges stripes. The pieces featured in Liam Hodges London Fashion Week Runway Show, ‘Fifth Generation’, at London’s Truman Brewery. Both swim short styles are made from Repreve®, out of 100% recycled water bottles.
Lois O’Hara is an artist and designer from the UK coastal town of Brighton. Known for her vibrant murals, printmaking and paintings. Boardies® and Lois share a love for art, basketball and surf. We have admired her work since she painted the UK’s first giant Basketball Art Court followed by her vivid planters close to our East London studio. There is a consistent thread running through her work. “I’m interested in capturing the fluidity of an image in motion,” says Lois, and it’s this sense of fluidity, combined with her bold colour combinations that makes her work so recognisable and a perfect match in working with Boardies®.
